A second-generation property developer with a hands-on approach to leadership, a strong foundation in civil engineering, and a genuine passion for shaping developments that create lasting value

Property development and project management form part of Nic McSeveney’s DNA. As a second-generation property developer, Nic brings a broad and practical skillset shaped by extensive experience across the residential and retail property development sectors.

Having identified his career path from an early age, Nic has always been drawn to building in both the literal and strategic sense. After completing his schooling at Hilton College, he pursued a diploma in Civil Engineering before beginning his professional journey as a Junior Site Engineer at AECOM (Pty) Ltd, where he gained valuable exposure to the technical and delivery demands of the built environment.

Nic later advanced his career in Eswatini, a place he regards as a second home, where he rose to the position of Chief Operating Officer at Swazi Poles (Pty) Ltd. During this time, he refined his commercial, operational, and leadership capabilities, contributing to significant growth and gaining valuable experience in managing people, processes, and performance at an executive level.

Through this combination of technical grounding, operational leadership, and entrepreneurial instinct, Nic has developed a clear understanding of what it takes to move property opportunities from concept to reality. As Managing Director of Rubik Design Forge, he leads the firm with a focus on strategic development thinking, commercial discipline, practical delivery, and long-term value creation.

Under his leadership, Rubik Design Forge is positioned as a multidisciplinary property development consultancy with a specialist focus on retail-led developments, while retaining the capability to support commercial and select residential opportunities across the broader property development landscape.

Beyond the development arena, Nic is a devoted father and husband and therefore an integral part of his young family. Away from work, he is most likely to be found alongside the sports field supporting his children in their various sporting commitments, or on one of the local golf courses, steadily working on his own game.
